How It Works

Each plan can be customised based on how long you want the service for. You can sign up for 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 12 months — it’s totally up to you. What we don't do...

What we don't do...

While the list of things we can design is rather long (as you can see above!), our work is firmly rooted in graphic design. Unfortunately, that means we can’t help you with animated 3D video, CAD (computer-aided design, most commonly used in product design), SEO (search engine optimisation) or copywriting.

We’re also not a branding design agency. While we’re a friendly bunch who love to help, but we can’t sit down, have a coffee with you and come up with a visual identity for your business from scratch. We specialise in bringing to life your existing ideas. So if you already have a clear design concept (including specific fonts, colours or images) for your company but don’t have the time, skills or available personnel to make it happen, then great, that’s where we can help!

If you are looking for help with branding, video, animation, copywriting or any of the non-Design Cloud services mentioned above, we work with multiple award-winning agencies across all areas of digital and we’ll be happy to introduce you to them.

Why is graphic design so important for your business?

Graphic design is an indispensable tool that encompasses almost every aspect of your business, from its face down to the purchase funnel. Doing it right is key to the success of your business.

Graphic design dramatically enhances the first impression of your business

Graphic design dramatically enhances the first impression of your business

First impressions count. It’s trite, but true. A study from Princeton University found that it takes just 1/10th of a second for someone to form a judgement about a stranger from their face — and the same goes for your business. In a split second, your brand’s appearance can grab peoples’ attention, pull them in and potentially convert them into a customer… or it can turn them off, drive them away and cost you a sale.

Graphic design can help you to hone in on your desired demographic, expand your reach and boost your bottom line. Good design conveys quality, credibility, consistency, success and trustworthiness — all things that make people more likely to buy your product or use your service. Every business has a story to tell, and graphic design is an incredibly powerful way of communicating your brand values and expressing your personality, allowing you to attract the right audience.

Effective graphic design builds trust, credibility & brand loyalty

Effective graphic design builds trust, credibility & brand loyalty

Graphic design is more than about just looking good, though; it can directly influence people’s behaviour. Different colours evoke specific emotions in people (red is synonymous with anger or passion, while blue is associated with calmness or coldness, for example). In fact, 92.6% of consumers say that colour dimension is the key factor affecting their purchase decision. Something as simple as the colour(s) of your logo can tap into the human psyche and turn casual observers into loyal customers.

In today’s digital age, graphic design is perhaps more important than ever. In most cases, people will first encounter your business online, perhaps through Google search, social media or your website directly. A recent study found that 94% of consumers’ first impression about a website is design-related, so it’s crucial that your virtual storefront looks appealing.

Graphic Design improves customer engagement & experience

Graphic Design improves customer engagement & experience

Social media is an essential marketing channel where hundreds of millions of people “congregate” every single day, but it takes creative, compelling designs to be able to cut through the constant stream of content, conversations and controversy. Did you know that tweets with visual assets generate 150% more retweets, while Facebook posts with images get 230% more engagement?

When it comes to your own content, graphic design can make it more engaging, effective and user-friendly. Whether you’re trying to inform your customers about a new product or service or simply educate them about a relevant topic, the use of visual elements has been proven to significantly help people take in and store information. Valuable, visually-pleasing content improves the customer experience and builds brand loyalty.

Why should you avoid bad graphic design?

Why should you avoid bad graphic design?

In the same way that great graphic design can elevate your business and expand your audience, bad graphic design can seriously hinder your company’s fortunes.

What do we mean when we talk about bad graphic design exactly? Bad graphic design can include specific things like an outdated logo, messy and uneven lines/shapes or low-resolution graphics that become blurry and pixelated when enlarged. It can also refer to broader issues like a logo that’s too bland or doesn’t fit your brand, a cluttered and poorly-functioning website or a lack of continuity and consistency across your company’s products (in other words, they don’t follow the same design guidelines).

Hire a Pro Designer
You can tell almost immediately when a business doesn’t use a professional graphic designer.

You can tell almost immediately when a business doesn’t use a professional graphic designer.

There are many businesses out there who choose not to invest in graphic design, perhaps because they think doing it themselves will save them money or they underestimate the importance of it. But you can tell almost immediately when a business doesn’t use a professional graphic designer. “Cheap,” “amateur” and “unattractive” are all words you might use to describe their visual identity.

If you skimp on your image, it gives people the impression that you skimp on other parts of your business, like your product, your customer service and how you handle customers’ personal data. It’s a sure-fire way to turn people off, especially new customers who are discovering you for the first time. When it comes to your website, almost 40% of users will stop engaging if they find the content or layout shabby and tatty.

Handling graphic design yourself might actually cost you more money in the long run...

Handling graphic design yourself might actually cost you more money in the long run...

As for the financial aspect, handling graphic design yourself might actually cost you more money in the long run. Imagine launching a product (or worse yet, your brand) and realising you need a professional redesign just a few weeks later? Not only would updating your products, website and social media pages be a giant headache, but it would create confusion among your customers.

Plus, if you do it yourself, there are important technical things you have to consider. Are you using the right file formats? Are you working with the right dimensions and resolution? Do you have legal permission to use a certain image or font? If not, you’ll run into complications down the road.

Why we’re based in Manchester

This is the place....to connect and create

This is the place....to connect and create

Aside from being a top city full of cracking people, Manchester is officially the tech capital of the North and is home to the fastest-growing creative industry anywhere in the UK outside of London. The city also gave birth to arguably the UK’s most famous graphic designer, Peter Saville, who created iconic album covers for Manchester bands like Joy Division and New Order in the late ‘70s and ‘80s, as well as the current branding for the city’s Metrolink tram system.

Furthermore, Manchester boasts a rich cultural heritage full of creativity, innovation and revolution. The city helped to power the Industrial Revolution in the late 18th century, it’s where Mancunian Emmeline Pankhurst founded the British suffragette movement in 1903, and it’s at the University of Manchester where the world’s first electronic stored-program computer (aka the Manchester Baby) was built in 1948.

FAQs

Is any of the work you do outsourced?

No – none of the work and graphic design that we do for your business is outsourced, and none of it is performed by freelancers. Every single asset and task that we complete is performed by our own people – a dedicated team of experienced graphic designers based in Manchester from our own office.

Will my business actually own the design work that you do?

Every single asset that our designers create here at Design Cloud is owned entirely by you – 100%. From visual assets covering content, print, social media, visual identity branding and more – everything we design for you belongs entirely to you.

We will actually provide you with all the files. Any Adobe layered files that we use to create your work, no matter what tool has been used or the type of any particular file.

It’s important to note that, in cases where we are required to use stock images for your work, there are particular licensing and ownership restrictions you need to be aware of. Read more in our terms of service, or get in touch with us to find out more.

When you say unlimited graphic design, is this actually true?

Yes. Unlimited graphic designs means unlimited graphic designs. When you choose to work with Design Cloud, there is absolutely no limit to the number of design requests that you can submit – meaning you are free to go wild with requesting a range of advertising, online and marketing materials from our talented artists.

There is also no limit to the number of revisions you can request either. If you get a design from us and there are things you want to change, big or small, you are welcome to request as many revisions as it takes to get things perfect.

One thing to remember is that our specialists and expert graphic designers are only human. We never outsource work and everything is completed by our own Manchester graphic design team. That means that we will work through the design requests in your queue, one design request at a time. We will move through your queue ongoing, allowing you to add and rearrange your key to keep your priorities how you want them.

The good news is that if you do need more designs and you need them faster, this won’t mean compromising on quality when you work with Design Cloud. Our service is easily scalable, allowing you to quickly add more designers to your account as and when you need them – doubling your daily design output.

I'm interested but I want to try the service out first - do you offer a trial?

We do indeed. Here at Design Cloud, we understand that you might want to check that our service is as good as it looks – and we are here to oblige. That’s why we offer a 14-day risk-free trial to try out any and all of our design services.

If you’re not happy with the designs and assets we produce during these first 14 days, you are free to get a full refund with no questions asked.

Do you work with other agencies?

We do, quite often in fact! We work with other digital agencies and businesses all the time here at Design Cloud. In particular, we often work with digital marketing agencies who outsource their design work to us in order to give their own in house design people more time away from the smaller design tasks in their workload.

A lot of our partners have found that using Design Cloud for branding, logo design, artwork, infographics and more is a cost-effective approach that prevents a bottleneck and improves flexibility. Plus, there are a lot of businesses out there that don’t have the luxury of a talented in house designer, making Design Cloud an excellent fit.

A lot of our work happens alongside the efforts of our partners – we don’t aim to replace existing graphic designers, rather to provide a cost-effective and flexible solution to enhance your output potential.

What tools do your graphic designers use?

The design team here at Design Cloud is well experienced with a versatile range of tools, meaning that we can always choose the right one for the job. For example, we apply computer-aided design and hand-illustrated designs using a wide range of different software and digital design tools. Software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are staples for any busy graphic designer.

Couldn't I just create the designs myself?

You could, but it’s worth remembering that experienced graphic designers do a lot more than simply apply their creative skills. You have probably seen a business logo and wondered to yourself whether it was actually designed by a professional – this is a testament to the huge difference between professional design and that performed by the inexperienced.

The Manchester graphic designers here at Design Cloud have spent a lot of time studying design principles and understanding how to use different design elements for different projects. Our design approach is comprehensive, taking into account typography, colour, balance, lines, space and balance to create one visual message.

What can Design Cloud design for me?

The talents and skills of our team are wide-ranging – we can design pretty much anything you want, as long you are able to explain or show us what it is that you want to be designed. From brochures and logos to websites and infographics, we can do pretty much anything graphic design-related.

If you’re not sure, then simply get in touch with us today to find out how Design Cloud can help you. And if we can’t help ourselves, we happen to work with Manchester businesses across the area, so we might be able to introduce you to someone who can!

How do I work with your graphic designers while staying in budget?

Well, this is something that the Design Cloud service has been designed to simplify. If you are worried that securing graphic design services might run over budget, then you’ve come to the right place.

Our monthly fee for unlimited graphic design ensures that you always know what you’re paying for and that there won’t be any hidden or unexpected costs whatsoever. With us, you can enjoy all the graphic design services you could wish for – for a fixed monthly fee.

I actually own several businesses - will I need more than one Design Cloud account?

You won’t! Every single one of our subscription plans comes with unlimited brands, meaning that you can use a single account to submit design requests for multiple businesses at a time.

It is worth remembering, however, that your graphic designer can only work on one task at a time from your queue. If you have one account, then all design requests from across different brands will fit into the same work queue.

The good news is that if you do need more designs done more quickly, our service is incredibly scalable. You can add more designers to your account as and when you need them, allowing you to double your daily design output.

Why is graphic design important for my business?

Good graphic design can completely transform your business. You’ve definitely heard the phrase ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’, and this couldn’t be more true. Graphic design can convey your brand’s tone, messaging, ethos, values and attitudes instantly – much more quickly than having it written down somewhere, that’s for sure.

When you choose Design Cloud, our graphic designers will employ a combination of illustrations, typography, colours, photography and more in order to create designs that instantly convey everything your audience needs to know about your business.

We often ask people to think of their website homepage much like having a shopfront on the highstreet. You’re going to need to have the right branding and messaging for users to quickly understand who you are and what you do, while welcoming and encouraging them to explore further. Then, you need to provide the right experience when they’re browsing your website in order for them to want to return.

This is why graphic design is so important to your business. It’s about making sure that you make the right impression on your audience.

What are the different elements that go into graphic design?

Think graphic design is just about knowing your way around making a pretty picture on photoshop? We’re here to mythbust that. While for some amateur designers, this may be just about all there is to it, when you hire true professionals like the team here at Design Cloud, you gain the benefit of having a design expert at the wheels.

Some of the elements that our designers consider when designing something for your business includes:

  • Pictures – Whether used to display a service or product on your website, or simply to evoke a particular response and feeling from your users, pictures and photography is a huge part of online design.
  • Text – Ever been on a website with text too small to read, or in a font that doesn’t match the rest of the website? Our designers consider everything from size, font, colour and spacing in order to ensure that the text on your design is readable and matches your business.
  • Colours – Colours can have a huge subconscious effect on people and has long been an important part of business branding. The use of colour can make or break any graphic design.
  • Lines – More than just dividers, lines can be used to separate content, guide your users to the right areas of your website and design, create space and more.
  • Space – Space is more than just the area between things – it allows you to create shapes, guide viewers and accentuate certain parts of the design or text.
How does logo design work?

To design the right logo for your business, we’ll need to understand what you like and don’t like. We’ll discuss any ideas you might have about your logo, what logos tend to stand out for your target audience, and where your logo is going to be used.

We’ll also look at examples of logos you like and don’t like in order to have even more clarity. Whether you have a prototype design or concept ready or have absolutely no idea where to begin, we can help work alongside you to make sure that the finished product works for you and your business.

The best part about all this is that it is part of our signature unlimited graphic designs package here at Design Cloud, meaning that you can request as many changes or redesigns as you like until your logo is perfect – at absolutely no added cost.

Where is Design Cloud based?

We are a Manchester graphic design agency, working with clients across the local area of the North West. We work with clients across the country, too, but we pride ourselves on being Manchester’s number one graphic design agency. We can work fully remotely, however. This means that you can submit design requests online, and we will then send the finished product back to you online too, meaning that our process is incredibly quick and simple.
