Keeping up with the day-to-day tasks of marketing can be a challenge. So, what can you do to make your life a little bit easier and speed up those smaller tasks that seem to take up so much time? In this article, we're reviewing free marketing tools that are useful for every size marketing team.

1. Hotjar

If you don't already have Hotjar installed for your site - you should leave this blog and go get it straight away! Hotjar gives you very invaluable insights into visitor sessions on your site. You'll be able to view exactly how a user on your site is interacting with different aspects of your site like buttons or your menu. Besides actually watching the user session, you'll also be able to look at heatmaps. Heatmaps give you the data on the hottest spots of your site, where the most clicks are being attracted. Hotjar offers a free version and a paid version, depending on the amount of sessions and data you want to track.

2. Google Analytics

For even more of a deep dive into your data, Google Analytics is a must. Google Analytics tracks a lot of important data, like conversion rates based on channel or the demographics of visitors on your site. As well as reports, you can watch real-time data like the amount of visitors on the site as well as the top active pages.

Google Analytics is more complicated to get set up as there is a little more technical set-up. Despite this, you can get set up with an account reasonably quickly.

3. Google Trends

The next free tool is also from Google, and that is Google Trends. Google Trends is a great place to look for content inspiration. It'll give you feedback on what the world is currently searching for and how popular a specific keyword is at any given time.

You can get started with using Google Trends straight away as it needs no installation or set up, just head to the site to get started.

4. Hemingway App

The Hemingway App is a great tool to use to write better content. The free tool will analyse your content and give you a readability score which you can use to improve the copy. The app will also give you warnings on sentences that are too complex, so that you can make your copy more understandable.

Like Google Trends,  you can get started with the Hemingway App  straight away via their site or desktop app.

5. Mailchimp

Mailchimp is a popular email marketing tool, but did you know they offer a free version of the app? This is a particularly good option for startups that are just starting to build their newsletter. You'll be able to send out 1,000 monthly emails for free, and the app gives you a perfect platform to design stunning newsletters.

This tool also features a range of pre-designed templates, so it's great for a smaller team looking to get started with email marketing.

In this article, we've briefly discussed 5 free marketing tools that can really help speed up those smaller tasks that tend to take up so much of the day. Keep your eyes peeled on the Design Cloud blog for more on marketing tools that can improve efficiency as well as tips to make your graphic design workflow smoother than ever.
