Running a business, whether large or small, is busy and fast-moving. Here at Design Cloud, we understand that it's incredibly easy for some of the smaller tasks to fall down the pecking order and get lost in the bustle of your day to day. With more local regions moving into stricter lockdown restrictions as we speak, the chances are that a lot of us are going to have to revert back to running our businesses from home. Fortunately, there are a few things that we think can help during the lockdown.

If you are anything like us, staying at home can get pretty boring. As a graphic design agency based in Manchester, we spend a lot of time talking with our clients about what they can do while working from home. Let's take a look at some of the different ways in which you can work on your business while staying at home.

Improve your presence on social media platforms

Let's face it: this is something that a lot of us know that we should be doing, but taking the time to improve your social media profiles can often slip down your list of priorities.

There are a lot of smaller details that often get overlooked in social media marketing. If you don't have a committed social media team, it's easy for business information, bios and descriptions to become out of date. Taking the time to go over these and to scrub up on your social media profiles is a fantastic thing to do during lockdown because it's quick and easy - but not something you would necessarily have the time to do as part of your ordinary day to day.

If you have dormant or unused social media profiles, now might be a good time to deactivate them - or start using them again. Go through your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram accounts and make sure that none of them are going to misinform or misrepresent your business.

Take some time to refine your brand messaging

Being stuck at home means that there is a bit of time for reflection. Take a look at your current branding and brand messaging. What makes you different from your competitors?

Is your branding exactly what you want, and is it clear across all your profiles and social media platforms online? Perhaps some graphic design is required in order to bring things up to scratch or for some crucial rebranding during the COVID lockdown.

It might seem like an unnecessary task - after all, who knows your business messaging better than you? But taking the time out to proactively reassess things with a new perspective can help you to refocus and plan clearly for the future.
