Here at Design Cloud, we have been thinking and talking a lot lately, about what the marketing world might look like post-COVID. The marketing realm is forever changing, improving and adapting ‚ especially online where traffic numbers and sales are increasing. Will it change comprehensively again when the pandemic is all over? Carry on reading to find out what we expect will happen when normality resumes in the world.

Will Online Shopping Have Taken Over?

The worldwide pandemic and the UK's national lockdown restrictions have had a damaging effect on our local high streets. But on the contrary, online sales and services are absolutely booming. Giant companies like Amazon, Facebook and Apple are all thriving in this current climate, as are many other retailers and service providers online. This increased demand solidifies what a lot of digital marketers already believed for some time, if you do not operate online you might as well not exist. The role of e-commerce has now become central to the overall customer journey. When the post-COVID world arrives, will e-commerce have taken over completely? Will the high street be completely dead? Will everything be bought and sold online? A lot of this will of course depend on how long the pandemic continues on for in 2021, and if there are many high street shops left come the end of it.

More Movements

These days, consumers expect action for things they care about from the brands they buy from. We don't just expect our government and fellow citizens to act, we also expect the brands we trust to act too. Take the Black Lives Matter movement as an example, almost every major brand in the world right now is supporting this social change, and rightly so. If you seem to be unsupportive, stalling or acting in your own corporate interest, your business will be called out and may suffer financial and moral consequences as a result. This trend looks set to become the norm moving forward, during and post COVID-19.

Continued Working from Home

What this pandemic has proved is that a lot of us can actually work quite capably from home. For many people, working at home around family members or the fridge is not ideal. But for others, it suits quite well and is more convenient than travelling to and from work. Some people are actually more productive when working in their own environment. Post COVID-19 we may see people continue to work from home more often than they would before the pandemic began.

The Importance of a Strong Social Media Presence

Millions of consumers are in quarantine, locked down or forced to work from home. This means online sales are thriving and traffic is increasing with each passing day. Almost every one of us is using our social media feeds as a source of news and information throughout the pandemic. This creates a great opportunity for you to market your brand and show the world what you have to offer.Ideally, you will want to retarget any audience you capture and maintain their interest when we are all allowed outside again. Having a strong social media presence will help you interact with your audience and maintain engagement with them now and later on down the line. This is why you need to work on creating content designed for social media users to consume. An unlimited, fixed-rate graphic design service can help you achieve just that, with high-quality graphic design on a rapid turnaround (usually within 24hrs).Book a demo with us today to see how we can boost your social media presence.
